Arctic Terns in the bay

There’s a small group of Arctic Terns in the bay.

They are such beautiful birds. I love the long tail streamers.

There is also a youngster with them. It’s preparing for its first long journey south in its new life of two summers a year.

The adults are hunting fish and splash into the water in front of me.

This one wasn’t successful this time. It needs several oily fish a day to thrive. Next time I’m sure it’ll catch one.
