Bear’s Garlic without the bears
There’s a small track through these old Somerset woods. I like to think it could be made by Badgers, although they are nearly extirpated in their ancestral homelands, because of anti-science attempts to keep the price of milk low for supermarket monopolies.
The smell of Bear’s Garlic is pungent underfoot. Sadly, we’ve already killed all the Bears in the country, the name of this garlic being a sad reminder of our loss.
I can see some Bear’s Garlic sprinkled on a lunchtime salad in my very near future.
