Cowslips, cowslips as far as the eye can see
I love seeing Cowslips. They were once so common and people were so rural that almost everyone in the country would know them and recognise them. They’re now a rare plant of roadside verges and nature reserves.
Here’s one from Fivehead Meadow in Somerset.
Thomas Hardy wrote in Return of the Native about having the good luck “to live in a cowslip country.” I can only agree.
