Slow Worm

Slow worm - The Hall of Einar - photograph (c) David Bailey (not the)

It was the 10th October when I lifted a piece of corrugated iron to see if there might be a reptile still attempting to warm itself in the heat of the pale sun.

It’ll be May before I’m able to see another. If only I could sleep until then, too.
