The Pole Jumper

A trip to Trendlebere Down gives us a chance to photograph Stonechats. This female had just eaten a bee and was doing her usual thing of perching on the highest post.

I love the Stonechat’s Italian name, Saltimpalo, because it means Jump-On-A-Pole. It’s a perfect description.
