Sniping from the sidelines
A Snipe is one wader I can identify confidently. That’s clearly a very rash thing to say, since I’ve yet to get a photograph of a Jack Snipe and that may well confuse me.
Here’s a Snipe from my 1970s nature notebooks:
Let’s hope I get a good view of a Jack Snipe soon.
