Bring out the bunting

Birds are extraordinary. Reed buntings go from hatching out of an egg to fledging in under 14 days. I’ve had children and it took them eighteen years to fledge the nest and even then they still needed temporary shelter from time to time.

This male has an intense fortnight ahead this summer. I can empathise.
