Goosander
This is the first time I’ve seen a Goosander in good light. That means I should try to get some decent photographs of it while I can.
Goosanders first bred in the UK in 1871 and have spread south across the country as far as Devon and Cornwall. They’re saw-billed ducks, with a long thin bill with a sawtooth edge.
I’m pleased to see one but in Europe there can be flocks of thousands of them.
Wouldn’t that be an amazing sight?
