My peanuts bring all the Parakeets to the yard

It’s a delight to see Rose Ringed Parakeets in London, even if they are noisy and seriously out of place. This one was inspecting a nesting hole in a large tree in Kensington Park in central London. This must be a female or an immature individual, as it doesn’t have the dark ring around its neck.

I managed to get a close-up photograph of one, which I adore. Just look at the eyes.

Glorious.

We’re surprised to see them come close when we’re feeding monkey nuts to Grey Squirrels, but soon have them hovering over us, landing on us and eating out of our hands. here’s a male, with the dark ring around his neck.

We now need more nuts.
