Greenfinches

Adult Greenfinches are stunning birds. The intensity of their plumage in beautiful dappled light has to be experienced to be believed. Their scientific name is Chloris chloris, which means greenish-yellow. Perfect.

They have huge, powerful beaks which occupy the entire front of their face.

A family has come to visit at the reflection pool, so we get to see some fresh juveniles with their parents.
