And then there was one.. again!
I’ve loved watching Coots have ugly-beautiful chicks and the dedication of the parents to raise them. One of the pairs on Stover Country Park lake had six eggs:

Yes, I know this looks like five and not six, but the parent was sitting on one of them.

There’s just the one left.
The parents are still just as attentive as they ever were. They usually only have one brood a year, but I wonder if this pair will try again?
