Duckling time

It’s duckling time and a splishy and splashy grand parade of cuteness is heading my way. I think there are seven or eight chicks with this female but I’m not bothering to count them. I want to get some decent photographs of them.

Firstly, I have to lie in the dirt. An eye-level-to-a-duck position is needed to really give the shot some drama.

I love the way the bow-wave looks enormous on this tiny duckling.

I open up the camera’s aperture so all the out-of-focus light makes beautifully smooth circles of confusion, giving the ideal milky background, which allows you to concentrate your gaze on one detail of the scene.

I love them. Do you?
