An inexperienced male

The female Great Crested Grebe at Stover Country Park has been making all the right moves. She’s been prostrating herself on their comfy weed bed and giving her mate the come-on. He’s taken the hint a few times but appears to lack technique. He’s meant to be giving her a cloacal kiss but appears to spend most of the time standing on her back with a bemused look on his face.

Here’s hoping practice makes perfect.
