Egyptian Ibis mummy

The British Museum is full of curiosities. Here’s the Easter-egg-like sarcophagus of an Ibis mummy.

It’s made of gilded wood and bronze and from the Ptolemaic period, the last dynasty of Ancient Egypt, from just over 2,000 years ago.

It’s beautiful in its simplicity, and accurate, isn’t it?
