After sticks comes mud

The Magpies have finished constructing their nest. Here’s one bringing in the twigs to construct the base. The roof was next.

Pick up sticks

Now it’s time to line it with mud.

This one is paying visits to the local brook for beak-fulls of wet mud. I love how it glistens in the sun.
