Return to the Long-Tailed Bushtits
You may have read my blogs about the Long-Tailed Bushtit family which took up a week of my life.
Once they fledge they travel as a family circus, performing incredible insect eating tasks in tree after tree as they move from wood to wood. It was a thrill to catch up with a family, maybe not the family, of Long-Tailed Tits in the woods surrounding their nest.
This is a youngster:
They’re certainly wrapped for warmth:
And the brown head is a distinctive mark of a young bird:
They look so clean and fresh.
I hope some of them will survive the winter and come back for their chance at raising a family.
