A teetering Common Sandpiper on stiff wings
There’s a tail-flicking little wizard on the tideline. That tail-flicking is called teetering. It’s a Common Sandpiper, Actitis hypoleucos. There’s what looks like a skateboarding ramp on the river bank. I move so the bird is out of sight behind the ramp and then move in closer.
I peep out from behind the ramp and have a great view. I get as low as possible and get a few shots.

And then another appears and it’s off, on stiff wings.
