Little Egret
Walking around the park I see a Little Egret take flight:

The Italian name for the Little Egret is Garzetta. That’s quite amusing since their scientific name is Egretta garzetta.
I check Wikipedia and it says: “It is a white bird with a slender black beak, long black legs and, in the western race, yellow feet.” Hold on. Western race? So the distinctive yellow feet aren’t universal in the species? Well I never.

The yellow feet are pretty distinctive on this one.
