Early in the morning the light is a cool blue

There are signs of spring everywhere:

The light warms to an amber glow later in the morning. There are signs that I need to increase my ability to identify tree species:

I wonder if it’s an Alder? And as for identifying lichens? Where is a lichenologist when you need one?
