Robins, Robins everywhere

We’re at a nature reserve in Italy, a WWF Oasi called the Lago di Alviano. There are European Robins here and they’re just as characterful as the ones I’m familiar with in the UK:

They are alive to every danger, any hint of food and any threat from another Robin in their territory.

They are also supremely cute:

They’re perfect posers on branches and glorious with autumn berries.

They are so elegant and well balanced.

This one cocks its head to one side. I think it may be listening to just how many photographs I’m taking of it.

This small spot in the forest sounds just like a Paris catwalk with shutters firing like machine guns. It’s the latest fashion.
