No need to chase

There are Broad Bodied Chaser Dragonflies in the old city of Matera. There’s one amongst the plants on a rooftop:

Changing my position a little I get a different background:

It’s a female. Later in the day we descend to the river at the bottom of the ravine, and there is one again.

Another female.

They have their favourite perches in the sunshine, so there’s no need for me to chase them:

If this one flies off, it’ll be back again soon.

It’s another female.

Then, finally, a male appears:
