Herons on the Lake

Grey Herons such are lumbering giants with prehistoric overtones:

This one’s landed in the water and is going for a paddle:

Another gives us a flypast:

They are surprisingly comfortable roosting and nesting in trees. This one’s feet look like garden implements. To think of it, so does its beak:

Here’s one just splashing down at the end of a golden day at the Lago di Alviano.
