Oysters growing on trees

Wandering along the River Dart in Devon I see a dead tree brimming with fungi. They look like Pleurotus cornucopiae to me.

They look very similar to Oyster Mushrooms, Pleurotus ostreatus, but are much, much bigger and have a proper stem, just like a cornucopia or Horn of Plenty.

If only I had a stepladder with me there’d be plenty of mushrooms for tea.
