Light Aircraft
I didn’t realise until today that the best way to see the Orkney Islands is by light aircraft. Lamb Holm is a tiny island with an airport which is a field and an industrial building yet which attracts flights from Iceland and Norway. Tommy, the owner of the island is taking us up today. He is an amazing man.
Here’s the aircraft. Tommy built it from what appears to be polystyrene and fibreglass. Are we really going up in that?
First, some more fuel.
The view of the airport after take-off.
The island of Lamb Holm.
And then the ocean, the shining ocean. Glorious.
