Tenderness

It’s hard to identify the emotions of birds. We’re separated by 320 million years of evolution since our most recent common ancestor and there’s been a huge amount of separate development in the mammal and bird lines since.

Looking at these two birds and their interactions it would be tempting to project tenderness, even love, upon them.
