Grey and Red

Devonian Red Sandstone – it’s red, it’s stone made out of desert sand, and it’s found in Devon, as well as elsewhere. The cliffs of South Devon are a wonderful place to explore the wind and wave-weathered cliffs, with their deep colours, strange formations, and mixture of fine sandstone and rough stone with boulders and pebbles.

In Torbay it was a pleasure to see this Grey Heron, sentinel-like, perched on a rock ledge, with a backdrop of red sandstone.

It’s a good place out of the cold wind to dry out after a fishing adventure.
