Tree Pipit

The Tree Pipit, Anthus trivialis, is a long-distance migrant, migrating to spend our winter in Africa or southern Asia.

This open woodland and scrub on Trendlebere Down is perfect breeding habitat for them. They must have a nest on the ground somewhere near here, so I’ll leave them in peace.
