Description

I was inspired by the carpet of wild Daffodils on a trip to Dunsford Wood. The beautiful natural two-toned bells and short stems are a graceful feature of the late winter and early spring landscape in parts of Devon.

It’s a three-colour layered papercut of Wild Daffodils, Narcissus pseudonarcissus using Hahnemuhle and Fabriano Tiziano 160 gsm papers.

Lockdown has given me time to observe, to appreciate the natural world and to create art. I’ve been wandering the fields, hedgerows and industrial estates with a digital notebook full of ideas inspired by nature. For this one I used my memories and photographs of Dunsford to create it.

I sketched them and created a three-colour papercut.
