Puffing Pigs

There are Harbour Porpoise off Brixham. It’s a thrill to see a small pod of them moving fast.

The name Porpoise comes from the French word pourpois. The French word comes from the Old French word porpais. The Old French word comes from the Medieval Latin word porcopiscus.

Porcopiscus means Piggy-Fish.
