The egg thief

Carrion Crows don’t just eat carrion. This one has found an egg. I don’t know where the egg came from. The Crow is mobbed by a Black-Headed Gull as it approaches, but its not one of their eggs.

It’s on the spit at Pennington Flash and clearly visible as I sit in the hide looking at all the ducks. Maybe it’s a duck’s egg?

I love how it manipulates the egg in its beak. It’ll make quite a sizeable meal.

When it’s happy with its grip it flies off into the bushes. You just have to admire their ingenuity.
