Yellow feet

These yellow feet are very distinctive. They belong to a Little Egret, Egretta garzetta.

They enjoy paddling in the water. I don’t mean just walking with their toes in the water, I mean that they flap their feet at the bottom of the water in an effort to disturb whatever is edible down there.

It’s interesting how colour co-ordinated birds often are. These big, bulging, beady eyes match their feet perfectly.

Little Egrets are incredible predators. No stickleback is safe from them.

This one is most definitely a bird on a mission. As am I. On a mission, that is. I’m not a bird.
