Herring Gulls wheeling in the last rays of sun

Herring Gulls are one of my favourite sights.

They’re the epitome of resourcefulness. It’s nearly sunset and there are a few circling above my local industrial estate. They often accumulate near the sewerage pumping station.

Their call is magnificent. I love the intense orange light that bathes them from low on there horizon.

They’re survivors.
