There are rainbows of hope all around us

There’s a beautiful Feral Pigeon in glorious sunlight in the town centre.

The iridescence is glorious. It’s a structural colour rather than a pigment. It’s an intensive process to create it.

There’s a brilliant citrous yellow Grey Wagtail on the banks of the river.

And swimming in the town centre, with the passers by almost completely oblivious, is a Mandarin Duck.

I stand and marvel at the audacity of something as simple as evolution by natural selection having resulted in all the glorious life which surrounds us.

Further along the river, at the quay is a rainbow of hope.

There are living rainbows of hope everywhere.
