Spiderbombing

I don’t know how long photobombing has been ‘a thing’. Spoiling someone’s photograph by appearing in it unexpectedly must have appeared very early in the history of photography. Perhaps not too early, as each photograph used to be very expensive.

It’s also now ‘a thing’ that photographs go viral because of something unexpected in them. “You’ll never guess who was in the background”, “Unaware that behind her was one of Hollywood’s greatest stars”, and “‘random man and his dog’ was actually Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour”.

So it was that when I took a photograph of this beautiful yellow flower stalk in a walled garden in Italy:

I had no idea that there was a Thomisus Crab Spider on one of the petals:
