Donkey

Donkeys are fascinating creatures. There’s a field full of them, here in Tuscania, north of Rome:

It’s not just me that’s fascinated by them. Earlier this week I had a wander around the Vatican Museum. In the galleries there’s this 2,450 year-old drinking mug in the shape of a Donkey’s head:

It’s from the ancient Etruscan city of Vulci, whose ruins are nearby.

I want one.
