The Very Hairy Dragonfly

I saw a Hairy Dragonfly, Brachytron pratense, last year, in May:

Today I can see one in front of me:

Unlike last year I can recognise what it is. It’s tiny and very still:

And hairy. I try getting close and closer:

As an exercise in stealth, this has been a success. Those eyes are so alien to us:

Apparently their habitat is: “Mainly found near unpolluted, well-vegetated water bodies.” I think the River Otter counts.
