Hot weather

Hot weather changes everything’s behaviour.

Butterflies are flying, plants are flowering, bees are buzzing and young people on the beach at Eastbourne are swimming.

The ability of some species to grow on the driest of stone walls in the saltiest of locations is amazing:

The flower beds are planted with Eryngium or Sea Holly which is a beautiful shade of blue:

Bumble Bees have their legs packed with pollen:

And this green bug is Closterotomus norwegicus, the Potato Capsid

And finally, on the hot walls are these sweet scented roses:

Eastbourne really won’t be like this in winter.
