A family of Long-Tailed Bushtits

I’m so familiar with the call of Long-Tailed Tits, or Long-Tailed Bushtits as I prefer to call them, that I hardly look upwards on my walk through Tudeley Woods in Kent.

Then I realise that there are lots of them.

Then I can see that they have beautiful brown heads. These must be juveniles.

I stare up into the trees and see a whole family flitting about, mostly hidden by the leaves.

Then they are gone, fluttering through the trees.
