Spotted! A brief walk in the woods

The weather is fine so I’m off to the woods to see what I can find. I’d really like to see a Pied Flycatcher, or a Flied Piecatcher as I seem to keep saying.

First there’s a male Bullfinch. What a thrill!

Such a beautiful bird:

Then there’s a Great Spotted Woodpecker. The ‘Great’ in Great Spotted Woodpecker means larger, just as the ‘Great’ in Great Britain does. The Woodpecker is also fantastic:

A nervous Nuthatch is next:

There’s also a Treecreeper in the woods.

And finally, it’s me that’s been spotted.

And that Pied Flycatcher? There was one, just as the light became too poor to photograph it. There’s an excuse, if excuse be needed, to come back.
