Westray phone box

Westray still has several relics of a bygone era; red telephone boxes. There are weeds growing inside some of them as they provide great protection from the wind. They would make ideal if slightly whacky cold-frames. Perfect for tomatoes, I’d say. One of the telephone boxes has a huge stone outside it to hold the door closed. On Westray the wind will open any door which is not fastened and eventually rip it off its hinges; all my outbuildings are proof sufficient.

With mobile phone reception being what it is on the island, Westray still needs its relics.
