First Light

Dawn is at 3:57 this morning.

In Rendalls, one of the shops in the village, I notice a small pile of CDs. On the back cover of one of them I recognise the face of Jenny Keldie. She’s an incredibly talented singer who I saw perform at Westray Connections in 2013. It’s called First Light and Jenny performs with Brian Cromarty.

It’s a fabulous CD with great vocal harmonies and fabulous children’s voices. Here’s Clementine:

The best song on the album is Maak Fir Da Light written by Jenny as a tribute to Samuel Angus Ward who was lost at sea in WWII. “And he always signed ‘Your ever lovin’ son’.”
