Signs of life at Dove Stone Reservoir

There’s time for a walk around Dove Stone reservoir in Saddleworth. I love their mosaic signs: very stylish:

This must be a Goldcrest; or maybe it’s a Firecrest. It’s always difficult for me to tell the difference.

There’s some amazing stone and ironwork around the reservoir. I suspect there are not many people alive who could produce such wonderful effects using their skills:

In the car park there’s a Jackdaw. I find them mesmerising, and have done ever since the thrill of seeing them on the balcony of a self-catering flat in Tenby on holiday as a child:

What a bird!

There’s an entertainingly twitchy lamb’s nose:

A couple of very bouncy Mistle Thrushes:

And doves so special I wrote a separate post about them:

There’s a Pheasant ‘hiding’ in the grass:

And another signpost with yet another fabulous mosaic:

And just before a visit to the ice cream van for a cider refresher lolly, a clanking Stonechat echoes around the valley.

It’s a great place to visit.
