Italian Wall Lizards

There are Ruin Lizards everywhere here in the south of Italy:

They know no difference between the natural rocks and the ruined buildings; or even the modern pavements, gardens and squares:

Every time I see one is a thrill, even though they are common. I didn’t see one as a child so they seem endlessly exotic to me:

Curled up in on a rock they bathe in the heat:
