Groatie Buckies

On the table in the Groatie Buckies cafe on Westray, run by Stewart and Marian Groat, is a jar of Groatie Buckies.

These cowrie shells are so difficult to find if you don’t know the right beach that I’m amazed they have so many in little jars on every table. Thinking about it, maybe that explains why they’re so difficult to find.
