Snow upon snow

Snow is a problem for people when you don’t prepare for it. It’s also a problem for wildlife. I’m wearing boots, waterproof thermal trousers, a coat I bought my son to wear on his trip to Russia and a hat so silly I hope I don’t meet anyone I know.

It’s a mile or two to the churchyard which has an added air of silence to it today:

There are signs of spring and signs of winter here today. There are symbols of new life and symbols of remembrance:

The powdery snow accumulates in great lollipops, building up like candy floss on sticks:

This Magnolia stellata was almost ready to flower:

This Daffodil is bowing its head under the weight of the snow:
