Windows

I love the windows of the old buildings on Westray in Orkney. The stonework is wonderful, the walls are so deep and the views through the tiny apertures give tantalising glimpses of the countryside beyond:

I wonder why this window was built like it is?

The wood has almost weathered away but the Westray rock is still as sharply dressed and as neatly set as when this building was first constructed. Westray houses were built by true craftspeople, from the Stone Age to the Bronze Age to the modern age, they were all hand-built by masters of their art.
