Autumn Ringlet

Identifying butterflies is stressful; especially when you’re not in your own country. Everything looks like something else you’re familiar with.

I was convinced that this butterfly was A Scotch Argus:

I’m not in Scotland and it’s not an Argus.

I’m in high mountains in Italy; somewhere around 1,500m above sea level. It’s an Autumn Ringlet:
