For every place, a palette

Every place on Earth has its own palette. Some are collections of complimentary colours; others have contrast. Some are simple; others are complex.

Here in L’Aquila in Italy the colours are a subtle collection of sky blues, limestone whites and red ochres:

Whether it’s the distant hills in a blue haze or the weathered oak of a door, the brilliant blue of a gloriously clear sky or the terracotta of a roof tile, there’s a beauty and uniformity about the colours of the landscape here:

I think it may be very different in the deep snow of winter. Today it’s our chance to walk from valley to valley to valley with a different view at at every summit:
