Mandarin Duck
Mandarin Ducks are one of the most spectacular birds in existence. They are originally from the Far East and were introduced to the UK in the last century.
Now there are only 1,000 pairs left in Eastern Russia, 1,000 pairs in Eastern China and 5,000 pairs in Japan. Meanwhile the feral population the the UK has reached 7,000 pairs.
Stunning.
I’m happy they are here.
