Rome’s Rose-Ringed Parakeets

In Rome they are noisy, colourful and gregarious. They fill the parks and streets on glorious sunny days and love nothing better than good food and good company. And the parakeets which live in Rome are just like the people.

Rose-Ringed Parakeets, or Ring-Necked Parakeets as they are also known, live in Rome as a strange, exotic, introduced alien species.

The colour of their plumage, fading perfectly from green to blue is spectacular with their red eye-ring and beak the colour of roses.

The climate look as if it suits them, just as it suits me.
